ARI 0.08 with AJAX

ARI 0.08 is released!

Things are moving pretty fast, but this release in particular has a really cool new feature. I have been reading up on AJAX and ARI is now AJAX enabled and the voicemail and call monitor pages now self update. This update happens behind the scenes and new entries just magically show up without any page flashing.

For AJAX, I opted for a coarse model where the main content of the page reloads at an interval. I learned alot in the process, and had to visit a number of websites to understand how it works and piece together a working version that supported most browsers. (and will fail gracefully if things like javascript are disabled. Will probably write a more detailed analysis on AJAX in the coming days.

Enjoy.

Do you have any FAQ on upgrading from older versions or is it trivial?
Would like to upgrade before we roll this out to users but we have already put the server online.

Thanks

ARI has few dependencies, so I would just rename the existing directory and install the latest stable release in its place. Should just fire up if you are using FreePBX, and should not take to much to re-config the main.conf.php file if you are not.

By Free PBX you mean the latest 2.0? We are still on 1.0x but that is on the list. If I should get that done first, I will do that.

Thanks

I am using AMP with * and ARI version 08, everytime I setup my extension to forward a call in ARI it wipes out other email settings in AMP for other extensions. Any ideas what I may doing wrong? Is there a bug? I saw this with ARI 07 also. It doesn't happen with 04

It was a bug that I have addressed in the current release (00.08.04)
